Here are four newly launched standout pieces of eyewear that have caught my eye over the last month or so.
Loewe x Paula’s Ibiza
As seen in the collage above and on Rihanna, Dua Lipa and Marc Jacobs, model 400331 by Loewe x Paula’s Ibiza, has a head turning concave front that creates a three-dimensional effect with its rectangle shape and oval lenses. Available in five equally striking colour combinations.
Belgian eyewear brand Lunetier Ludovic has collaborated with fine jewellers, Manalay to produce High Line, an exquisite gentleman’s frame comprising 32g of white gold and 206 brilliant-cut diamonds.
Bayria Eyewear created AnnAcronista, an exquisite limited-edition frame which pays homage to the late, wonderfully eccentric Italian fashion-writer Anna Piaggi. The butterfly shape represents the freedom to express oneself without limits, something Piaggi epitomised.
Vinylize x ACDC
Formed 50 years ago this November, AC/DC is the world’s longest-running rock band. Vinylize has released an eight-piece collection dedicated to the founding and current members. The designs feature details from the bands’ album covers as well as metal AC/DC lightning bolts.
A version of this article appeared in the October November print edition of Optometry Today for which I write a regular eyewear column.
