I can’t remember ever being quite so obsessed with one particular colour as I am right now with green. From my green jumpsuit to my Sicily outfits, it is clear to see that green has been my favourite colour for several months. Colour psychology associates it with calmness and nature; well I’ve certainly been spending a lot of time taming our mature garden over the last few months. Maybe that is the subliminal reason. Or maybe it’s just that there is a lot of it about right now. I favour bright, clear shades of green rather than sludgy olives and khakis. They work well with tonal shades and with white and gold like in this outfit.

I bought this Me + Em green flower dress for my 50th birthday dinner at the Lanesborough in Mayfair. On that occasion I wore it with its belt and with green strappy sandals. On this occasion, lunch at Bar and Grill in Leeds with my friend Sara, I removed the belt and wore it with white Chelsea boots. I’ll probably wear it in exactly the same way this coming weekend for dinner (after shopping) in Newcastle with Ian and Harry and his girlfriend.

I absolutely adore the dress. The lace detail on the cuffs and collar, the puff sleeves and the gold buttons are such beautiful, feminine details. The puff sleeves add a bit of width at the shoulder which in turn makes the waist look relatively slimmer. I adore this Me + Em green print midi dress and I know I’ll wear ot across the seasons for many years to come.
