This Me + Em dress is one of my favourite dresses from last year- I wore it to a family bbq at my brother’s home last week. I adore the colour and the fit of it. It’s a heavy jersey fabric, so it’s very comfortable and easy to wear. And it has pockets. I teamed it with Boden rainbow wedge sandals which are probably five years old now? I can’t quite remember.
When we moved into our new home three months ago, I was really rather shocked at how many dresses and shoes I’d forgotten about. I wear scrubs for work three days a week and have spent almost every day off working to tidy and cut-back the garden. This doesn’t help with the cost-per-wear of my dresses. We have a few nice things in the diary though and I’m looking forward to wearing more of my favourites. We went to Australia and New Zealand in February, so we aren’t having a holiday in summer. If I can work a few extra days in practice to accrue some more annual leave, we’re going to go abroad in late September ahead of my fiftieth birthday in early October. I may buy a few things for that.

Back to this outfit though. I wore pearl costume jewellery because I love it and because it compliments the white detail on the pink Me + Em dress.
The large pearl hoop earrings are by independent brand Kiri and Belle. They gifted them to me a couple of years ago. I went on to buy some more pearl jewellery from their collection afterwards. The ring is from Danon Jewellery.

And can I just give our roses a shout out. I post more about the house and the work-in-progress on our home Instagram account @built_in_1873 if you’d like to follow Ian and I there.
