Alexander’s is a fabulous and very stylish bar restaurant here in Skipton. For the last few festive seasons, they have had a seriously cool Alpine-lodge style restaurant pop-up called Off Piste. There are two separate areas available for bookings: a specially designed cabin tent with inbuilt chef’s station and an outdoor winter terrace with bar, heaters, fire-pits and ski photo wall. Olivia from Story Teller Marketing, invited fellow Skipton-based blogger Gemma (@girlaboutyorkshire) and me to experience Off Piste.
Alpine Cabin with Chef’s Station
We sat in the cabin tent with the chef’s station which was really warm and cosy. The heaters did a great job so there’s no need for extra layers; wear what you’d wear if you were eating indoors.
The six-course set menu is priced at £52 per head. (All dietary requirements are catered for- just mention this when booking).
My photos really don’t do the food justice but they will give you an idea.
Every dish was exquisite and freshly prepared by the very talented Ben. He came and gave us a full explanation of each dish, which for a foodie like me, was music to my ears. Our young waiter Hugh was excellent too. Very attentive, polite and knowledgeable.
Off Piste Cocktail Menu (Get A Complimentary Cocktail For Yourself)
There are four specially devised Off-Piste cocktails in addition to Alexander’s already extensive drinks menu.
I had the Merry Maraschino, (Luardo Maraschino liqueur, soda and Prosecco), which was divine.
Get a free winter cocktail worth £10 (from the Off Piste selection), or a schooner of Paulanger at Alexander’s until 2nd December 2022. See this Instagram Post for details.
Instagrammable Ski Wall
This the photo wall on the outdoor winter terrace. We obviously couldn’t resist…
My Off Piste Outfit
I wanted to be practical-ish as well as being dressed up for the occasion so I decided to wear my new Boden mutton sleeve dress with my white Chelsea Boots(gifted). I wore the dress two weeks ago with green glittery extreme platforms: this is a slightly more sensible, but equally stylish footwear option.
My blue and green stone statement necklace was from Boden several years ago. I recently rediscovered it and had forgotten how much I love it. My earrings, ring and handbag are all gifts from Ian.
Book Off Piste Now!
Thank you to Olivia and the Alexander’s team for inviting me to experience the magic of Off Piste at Alexanders. if you live in the Skipton area or are planning a visit before the end of the year, I cannot recommend the Off-Piste experience enough. I enjoyed it so much that I’m going to book to go with Ian. I had a wonderful evening and meeting Gemma and Olivia was the icing on the cake.
