Ian and I celebrated our first wedding anniversary on Sunday. I truly can’t believe how quickly the year has passed. My work friends gave us a voucher for Grassington House as a wedding gift so it seemed appropriate to use it. It’s the first time we’d been there together- I’d been previously when I did a review for Aspire magazine- but that was before I met Ian so at least six years ago.
Grassington is a beautiful little village and well worth a visit if you’re in the area. Grassington House has rooms as well as an award-winning restaurant. I started with tempura prawns- they were the best I’ve ever eaten. Ian had scallops- also divine. We both opted for mignon for our main course. Mine was served with king scallops, Ian’s was wrapped in pastry. Again, delicious. The service was excellent and we had a thoroughly enjoyable evening.

I wore my latest Self-Portrait dress. I wore it twice when we were in holiday in Spain and then again for Poppy’s graduation. The cost per wear is coming down! Unusually for me, I wore flat shoes. This is because I had sprained my ankle a week earlier and it was still painful and slightly swollen. I love these pearl embellished mules though and I think they looked fine with the dress. I wanted to wear my wedding Choos but these things happen. I’ll get plenty more opportunities. I did however wear the gorgeous Jimmy Choo bag that Ian gave to me for Christmas.
Thank you again to my work friends for the perfect wedding gift.
