I am a brand ambassador for MAC Eyewear.
100% Optical 2022
100% Optical 2022, the largest optical event in the UK, returned to London’s ExCel last weekend after a two-year break. I was there with Team MAC Eyewear and more than 9000 attendees for three days of catwalk shows, education, networking and product discovery.
MAC Eyewear Stand
MAC has a portfolio of more than 15 collections so our stand had something for everyone. We were very busy throughout and we welcomed friends and customers old and new. My friend and colleague Marketing Director Sara Walker and I are equally passionate about eyewear and we can never resist an opportunity to do a try-on.

Ronit Fürst
We were honoured to be joined by the very-talented Ronit and her husband Ehud who were celebrating 20 years in the industry and showcasing Ronit’s latest hand painted styles. Sara and I have some style content planned for next month which will feature some of Ronit Fürst’s stunning eyewear.

Love Eyewear Awards
A highlight of the weekend was winning not one but two categories in the Love Eyewear Awards. JFRey’s 3D printed model JF2947 won the Women’s Sunglasses Frame of The Year, an accolade made extra special by the presence of J F Rey’s Export Manager Pierre-Yves Chouvet.
The gong for Unisex Design of The Year went to The Singer by Struktur Eyewear who made their debut at the show.

Friends Old and New
Catching up with friends old and new is something I always enjoy but it was more special than ever at 100% Optical 2022 because the enforced hiatus of the last two years. These photos make me so happy.

Filming for Optometry Today
As part of my role as a content creator for Optometry Today, I filmed a short video in which I chatted briefly about my top three sustainable products at 100% Optical 2022. The three I chose, in no particular order were:
1. Feb31st’s eyewear which is made from wood from storm-damaged trees.

2. Thama‘s iGreen and oSix eyewear which is made from bio-acetete by a process which uses 50% less water and 50% less electricity than normal manufacturing processes.

3. Coti-Vision’s walnut wooden spectacle chain which the women behind the brand designed for Earth Day.
An Evening With The AOP
The Sunday night is when the formal event of the weekend, The AOP Awards, takes place. This year was slightly different. This year, the format was more informal, a cocktail party on the Sunborn Yacht. It was brilliant ans just as good as the usual black tie event. It was the perfect way to round off 100% Optical 2022. I’ll let the photographs speak for themselves.
