I’m longing for colour. I’m desperate to see the first daffodils peeking out and for blue skies and green fields to replace late winter’s greige palette. And I want to wear colour. I’m drawn to clear vibrant hues to uplift and energise. Dopamine dressing I suppose.
There are three standout colours for Spring Summer 2022: purple, (specifically Veri Peri, the Pantone Colour of The Year), green and pink. Pantone created Veri Peri is a to embrace the uncertainty and cautious optimism of the present time. This new, beautiful shade of periwinkle is the result of almost a year’s worth of research which started last spring. The Pantone Color Institute looked at areas from fashion to sport to gaming to see what people were talking about before presenting their choice. This shade also has roots in the natural world and in wellness with lilac in particular offering a calming input.
Veri Peri Outfit: Boden ruffled blouse
The semi-fitted blouse in this divine shade of periwinkle is from Boden. It has got ruffled detailing and smocking around the neck. The blouson sleeves are gently “puffed” at the shoulder with buttoned cuffs. The blouse is perfect now for early spring with a layering vest underneath and with jeans or chinos. I already have plans to wear it with shorts to the beach when summer graces us with her presence.
This Boden smocked blouse comes in another two colourways and it fits true to size.
I styled the Veri Peri coloured blouse with STEPPER Eyewear STS-10075, in colour F550, a translucent purple. The eyewear is lightweight and supremely comfortable in common with all STEPPER eyewear.
