Six Early Spring Dresses I’m Lusting After
Dresses will always be my sartorial go-to. It makes dressing simple- no co-ordinating to do, no debating whether to tuck or to leave untucked. The dress section is where I head to first both on websites and in physical shops. As Ian said in his wedding speech: “Elizabeth has one hundred dresses.” I don’t think I have quite that many, but his point was met with a collective nodding of heads.
These early spring dresses will lift the spirits and will work with boots, trainers, flat sandals, heeled sandals, the works. Most would all take a layering vest or tee underneath and would look fine and dandy with a jacket over be it biker, blazer, parka or puffer.
These three plain dresses, all from Me + Em, are glorious in both colour and fabric. The fluid silk statement maxi comes in delightfully named parakeet and candy pink colourways. (Pink and green featured heavily on the SS22 catwalks as you can see in the collage from Vogue.com below). The pink Ponte fit and flare maxi comes in navy and white. I think Me + Em is among my favourite womenswear retailers right now. I would love to curate a collection of their pieces.

Two of the three florals are from the pink and green palette too, the third, from Phase Eight, isn’t as bright, but just as beautiful. Ian and I were in Fenwicks in Newcastle a few weekend ago and saw one of the team wearing it in the Phase Eight concession. She looked amazing in it and I made a mental note to add it to my wishlist.
