One of my favourite nights in my “social calendar,” is our annual girls’ Secret Santa Night. For the last decade or so, my Skipton friends and I have met at around this time in one of our homes for fizz, food and laughter. This year, my friend Annemarie hosted and requested that instead of buying a new gift for Secret Santa, that we each bring something that was either an unwanted gift or was something recycled. Such a good idea. We always have so much fun and I find myself aching with laughter and reminiscing for days afterwards; our group chat abuzz with anecdotes and emojis.
The perfect Christmas party top
I bought this top earlier in the season and it’s the third time in three weeks that I’ve worn it with these velvet trousers- I just hadn’t managed to get photographs of the full outfit. It’s by Antik Batik, (via The Outnet), a Parisian brand known for its beautiful embellishment and embroidery. (One of my favourite honeymoon outfits is from there too, a white, knee-length broderie dress which you can see in this post).
To me it’s the perfect Christmas party top. The beautiful colours, the sequins and the exaggerated sleeves turn in it into something special, yet it’s easy to wear. I tucked it in on this occasion, but I’ve worn it untucked too. It will work with (p)leather leggings, straight jeans and with straight skirts, so it’s as versatile as it is fabulous.

The perfect Christmas party shoes
I thinks it’s now the fifth time I’ve worn these shoes. You’ll recognise them from my previous blog post and from my Instagram grid. You’ll be fed up of hearing me tell you how comfy they are, so today, I’ll draw your attention to the flattering v-shaped straps which visually elongate the foot and draw the eye to the slimmest part of the ankle.
Sparkle, comfort and joy, what more could a girl ask for. These are the perfect Christmas party shoes.

OMG Lizzy, that top is absolutely GORGEOUS! What a brilliant buy! And you’re right, so perfect for this time of year. The sandals are beautiful too, although I just cannot wear sandals unless the weather hot lol!

Thank you Suzy. Yes, it’s a super top isn’t it. I’m so pleased I bought it. And I know what you mean about sandals! I certainly wouldn’t venture outside in them at this time of year, but I can manage a few hours indoors!!! xxx
