Mad in Italy was founded in 2010 in Belluno, Italy. The brand’s values are built upon the collective image of Italy and the love of life. This is very apparent in the imagery which shows models smiling, laughing and not taking themselves too seriously. Every design is created with three factors in mind: colour, technology and materials. Their eyewear is therefore stylish, and lightweight with a pinch of irony for good measure.
I’m wearing Rimini in saddle brown. It’s available in royal blue and slate grey too. The frame and lenses are made from nylon so this model is very lightweight, and therefore, very comfortable. The lenses in this colourway are matte gold, which compliment the saddle brown frame. They are polarized and give category three sun protection.
I love the gold detail at the temple. It’s a subtle style detail that elevates the simple silhouette into an elegant, aspirational piece of eyewear. To me, these sunglasses epitomise the glamour of the Italian Riviera- I adore them. They’re supremely comfortable, lightweight, tasteful and timeless.
“Mad in Italy is inspired by the beauty of Italy. The brand wishes to celebrate its beautiful country and to spread a message of joy in different ways, from the name of the glasses to the advertising campaigns. By wearing a Mad in Italy frame, we hope to inspire to enjoy the smaller things in life, like the taste of a good meal…”
