You might have seen some of these photos of my final wedding dress fitting on Instagram. Poppy was on holiday so I invited my mum along. We had THE most fabulous day. My mum had seen my dress in its bag but hadn’t seen it on me, so it was nice to have a ta-dah moment when I stepped out of the fitting room. She loves it as much as I do. All it needs now is a change of fastening and it’ll be ready to collect it from The Bridal Emporium two days before the wedding.
We lunched al fresco at The Ivy- it was a glorious day. It was the first visit for both of us and it was excellent. We both opted for curry and a large glass, (and then a second large glass), of Soave. The latter, along with the glass of fizz we had at the wedding dress fitting, made us rather giddy. Consequently we got ridiculously excited about the stunning decor in the washrooms. We tried and failed to take a decent loo selfie but we did have a really good giggle which you can see in the video in this Instagram post. It still makes me giggle when I watch it back.
Final wedding preparations
The wedding is now just two weeks away so we’re into the final throes of planning. It’s really just the finer details now. This last week we’ve finalised the table plan, had the bridesmaids’ dresses altered and collected the men’s suits. The flowers, cake, car and band are in hand. I’m just hoping that my hairdresser won’t be closed (as it was earlier this week due to a client testing positive). I’ve been going to Chic Hair Studio in Skipton for 15 years and I cannot imagine getting my wedding hair done anywhere else.
This will be my last blog post until I’m back after our honeymoon at the end of August. I’ll post on Instagram from time to time over the next month though, and I’ll definitely share some wedding and honeymoon photos. Please do follow along- it’s always lovely reading your comments- thank you and see you when I’m a married woman.
