This white and blue embellished dress is the third and most “formal” of my hen party outfit options so far, by virtue of the sparkle and the heels. (You can see the other options here and here). Thankfully, the party can go ahead, although we’ll need to wear a mask when embarking and disembarking and moving around the boat. It’s a shame the restrictions haven’t been lifted completely as we hoped they might on 21st June. However, we will still have an amazing time- a much-needed night of fun for myself and the rest of the hens.
White and blue embellished dress
True to form, there’s a lot of white in this super-feminine dress. I love the crisp contrast it makes with the navy. However, I do wonder if it’s a dress better-suited to that of a wedding guest or a race goer? I can’t decide. I probably won’t decide until Friday night, the night before the party.

My sister-in-law Sarah, my mum and Poppy have a group chat in which they’re plotting and planning. I have an inkling of a few things they have planned, but I’m expecting a few surprises too, (not sure if “expecting a few surprises” is an oxymoron?)
There will be 29 of us in total, made up mainly of my work friends and my Skipton-based friends. I would love to have invited all of the amazing women in my life but we knew we were cutting it fine with the restrictions. Not only that, every B&B, guesthouse and hotel room in Skipton has been booked for months. I already have 8 people staying in my little house so there’d be no room at the inn here. They will all be at our wedding though, by which time, there really should be no more restrictions.
Back to the outfit. This beautiful beaded bag is one I have had for about four years I think. It’s the sort of bag that looks as good with a formal cocktail dress as it does with jeans and a white tee. The detail is exquisite isn’t it.

I have a few more scheduled blog posts to share over the next few weeks but as you might imagine, the next few weeks will be incredibly busy as we prepare for Ian’s mum’s funeral and finish the last of the wedding prep. Do forgive me therefore if I don’t post as often as usual. I promise I have lots of lovely wedding stuff to share, including behind the scenes photos of my wedding dress fittings, my shoes and, after the weekend, my much-awaited hen party, before which I’ll decide if I’ll wear this gorgeous white and blue embellished dress.
