If Alice Temperley and Needle and Thread were to have a love child, it might look something like this nude pink embroidered maxi dress. More-is-more dresses with all-over embroidery, embellishment, lace and ruffles have been popular for a few seasons now and they show no sign of going anywhere soon. Of course, it’s right up my straße.
It’s one of my May picks for Coast. It’s new in and is already sold out in most sizes. I’m not surprised- the nude pink background is delicate and pretty while the multi-coloured embroidery is bright and vibrant. I have to say that I think it is a little easier to wear than the similar Needle and Thread style, simply because there are fewer tiers and ruffles.
It’ll be a summer staple with sandals but come autumn, or a breezy summer garden party, I’ll add a denim jacket, a big scarf and a pair of trainers. Or, perhaps even a pair of Docs or biker boots.

Nude pink bow sandals
I bought these some time ago to put away for our honeymoon. They’re Ancient Greek sandals, (via The Outnet), and I have another pair which have been a holiday favourite for about four years now. I knew these would be just as comfortable and just as versatile. They look cute with jeans, palazzo pants, swimwear and beachwear, and they’re beautifully made.
The Perfect Pair
What is the perfect eyewear to go with this dreamy nude pink embroidered maxi dress? The dress is very much more-is-more, so an apologetic, too-subtle frame would not cut the mustard- it would disappear. However, something too bold would make for a look that is just too busy. I cannot think of a better piece of eyewear then the Bocca Tweet by Parisian eyewear brand, Face a Face. The combination of olive green and pink compliments the colours in the dress and the shape makes enough of a statement to hold it own.
