I have a thing about pineapples and about bags made of straw, raffia, wicker or bamboo. I suspect it’s because each of them conjures up images of blue skies, white beaches and freedom. Imagine my joy therefore, when I saw this fabulous straw pineapple bag on the Boden website. This bag epitomises summer.
Just in case I haven’t mentioned it enough, Ian and I are getting married in summer and we’ve booked our honeymoon in Crete. After the last last year, I daren’t take things for granted, but I’m cautiously optimistic that England will get out of this third lockdown as planned on June 21st and that we’ll get the wedding and honeymoon we’ve planned. Therefore, I’ve been curating a honeymoon wardrobe for quite some months. However, I’m not buying pieces to last one holiday. I’m selecting things that will last a lifetime, that I’ll bring out year after year and that will remind me of the first time I used or wore them.
This straw pineapple bag is to be my holiday breakfast and lunch bag. It’s large enough to fit my phone, sun(glasses), brush, lipstick and room key. It has a cotton lining so the contents won’t get scratched and a loop fastening to keep them safe.
The leather strap means it can be worn across the body or on the shoulder. The bag is beautifully made, unlike some straw bags which seem to “unravel.” This fabulous pineapple bag is lighthearted, fun and full of the joys of summer.
Now, is it time for a piña colada?
