It’s probably quite obvious that I’m romantic to the core. I always have been. But right now, my romantic nature is in over-drive. I’m certain it’s because, all being well, Ian and I will get married as we’ve always planned, later this year. Not only that, (and with the same “all being well” caveat), we will go on our honeymoon to Crete. So every single item of clothing, every piece of jewellery and every pair of shoes I choose is with my wedding and honeymoon wardrobe in mind. This exquisite pink ruffle bodice pleated dress is no exception.
I haven’t planned my hen party/parties yet, but this dress is a contender to wear for a pre-wedding dinner and/or kitchen disco with my girlfriends. It’s comfortable and easy to wear and needs little in the way of accessories- I’m wearing it here with my freshwater pearl necklace and beloved Jimmy Choos. But it will look just as good with hoop earrings, a basket bag, flat sandals and beachy hair when we’re on holiday. (I’m sorry you can’t see the Choos. I took these photos in our office, a room which isn’t quite long enough to get a full-length shot with the camera. However, you can see the dress and and shoes fully in this Instagram Reel).
It hangs beautifully and is a flattering shape. (I’m wearing my usual size by the way). And for those who don’t like pink, it comes in black too which is equally head-turning.
The Perfect Pair
What is the perfect pair of glasses to go with this dreamy ruffle bodice pleated dress? It needs to be a soft and feminine style that won’t overpower, yet strong enough to balance the ruffle detail.
I cannot think of a better choice than the Aurora by Pier Martino, (model 6627) that I featured it in all its exquisite glory in my Eye-catching Eyewear series. It is handmade in acetate and set with Swarovski crystals. It’s one of the most exquisite pieces of eyewear I have ever seen and I think it compliments my dress beautifully.
