Happy Mother’s Day to those who are celebrating here in the UK.
This green cut-work lace midi is one of those dresses that made me squeal when I saw it online; I let out a veritable shriek when it arrived. I adore the vibrant verdant cut-work lace fabric and the way it swishes into a flowing, scallop-hemmed skirt.

And the puffed short sleeves, striped trims and buttoned detail at the bodice are the cutest finishing touches.
It reminds me (a lot), of a red Self-Portrait dress that I wore for Poppy’s 18th birthday party and in fact this dress is available in an equally-vibrant red.
The gold-coloured buttons call for gold jewellery. My gold bracelet was my 21st birthday gift from my parents. 26 years on, it still looks as immaculate and current as it did when it was new and I always enjoy wearing it. In contrast, the emerald-cut emerald quartz cocktail ring is a new addition. Even though we’re still in lockdown and can’t actually go out for cocktails or indeed anything else, I’ve worn this ring countless times already.
And now onto the Choos. When I mention them in a blog post, I often say that they’re about seven years old. I found the receipt the other day; I got them in March 2010, so they’re actually 11 years of age.
Unlike my bracelet, they do show signs of a life well-lived, (they’ve been to a lot of parties!). You might remember that I had them “refurbished” the summer before last- it was a worthwhile investment. Close-up however, they aren’t as pristine as I’d like. With that being said though, I’d rather have that, than have them look immaculate from lack of wear.
The Perfect Pair
What is the perfect pair of glasses to compliment this stunning green cut-work lace midi dress? Eyewear to compliment this dress needs to be feminine and have a strong silhouette just like the dress does. The green is so vibrant that any other colour would clash, so I chose a super-lightweight titanium rimless style, the STEPPER SI-84609. The gold mirrored lens works beautifully with the gold-coloured buttons and with my jewellery. (You can see more photos of this in this blog post we that photographed when we were on holiday in Crete last year).

Green is such a fibrant color. I like it s lot to wear jewelry with a story to it. Enjoy your Sunday!
Thank you Nancy. Yes, it’s a beautiful uplifting colour. And I agree. Jewellery means so much more when there’s a story behind it! xxx
