Always Space For Lace…

Lace will always entice me and it was the exquisite bodice of this ice-blue pleated midi dress that caught my eye. To me, it epitomises femininity and sensuality. It’s tactile. It whispers workmanship and screams elegance, at least when it’s in a colour so beautiful and delicate as this.

I feel The Duchess of Cambridge might wear something similar and that makes me happy because I’m a fan. It manages to be both modest and flattering and I don’t think I could love it any more than I do. It is the second of my February outfit choices from Coast and I like it so much, I’m very tempted to buy it in another colour, (there’s a choice of eight colours, including both light and dark).

A dress like this needs a delicate shoe so my ivory lace court shoes are perfect. These were actually on my wedding-shoe-shortlist, but in the end, the style wasn’t quite right with the dress. However, I intend to wear them with several of my honeymoon outfits as well as at other times too. The style is the Briony by Lotus Shoes, so like all Lotus styles, it’s supremely comfortable. It too comes in a choice of colours, all with a matching clutch. I do so hope we’ll  soon get the opportunity to get dressed up and go out sometime soon.

In keeping with delicate accessories, I added these beautiful emerald quartz, pearl and blue topaz earrings- I adore pearls as well as lace- and my fabulous mohair clutch from my lovely friends at Samuel Tweed.
