It’s lovely being able to sit and eat outside and better still now lockdown has eased a little and we can meet in groups of up to six people, (albeit with social distancing still in place). So yesterday, we went to my parents’ home for a barbecue. The sun was glorious.

But no matter how sunny it is, I always take a scarf or serape. It keeps the shoulders and upper arms warm and makes all the difference when the sun goes in or when it gets to evening time. This absolute beauty is the Klimt Ria Munk stole, (Poshmina™), from British brand Fox and Chave.
Their designs are inspired by history, nature and the arts and they’re the chosen supplier for some of the largest museums and galleries in the world. As always I was drawn to my colour comfort zone, in this case, the aqua background and tassels. However, it was the stunning vibrant floral print that made me look twice. It’s inspired by Gustav Klimt’s Portrait of Ria Munk.
The young woman, Maria (“Ria”) committed suicide in 1911, after the writer Hanns Heinz Ewers called off their engagement. At the time, Klimt was the most sought-after portraitist in Vienna, so Ria’s mother commissioned him to paint this posthumous portrait of her beloved daughter. The first two portraits he did didn’t meet with the family’s approval and while he was still working on this third portrait, Klimt himself died, so the portrait remained unfinished.
This Klimt Ria Munk stole is beautifully made and the weight attests to its quality. The printed side is satin and the reverse is brushed silk, so it’s incredibly soft. It’s an utter joy to wear and an investment piece which will last a lifetime.

Re your opening paragraph: we’ve been inundated with so many rules that I’ve lost track of where we are currently at! I shouldn’t worry about the 6 person thing, Lizzy. You’ll be fine if you are two or three over. The police won’t come knocking. I hope you enjoy being back at the workplace 😊
Hee hee! I’m imagining the police knocking on doors to count the number of people in the garden!! And we really have had so many rules thrown at us. I’ve loved being back at work. It’s been hard- long days and very warm with all the PPE, but thankful to have some normality and routine back.Lots of love xxx
