Happy Monday. We’re heading into week seven of Coronavirus lockdown. I hope everyone had a good weekend. Ours was lovely, again, the sun made all the difference.
Saturday: Dressing Up
I finally got my Farrow and Ball paint tester pots, so I painted some sheets of white paper and stuck then on the living room walls next to the wallpapered wall. I’d ordered a new light fitting for the sitting room which Ian put up. It’s all coming together very nicely.
I fancied getting a bit more dressed up on Saturday too. Something to make a change from the jeans and leisurewear of the previous few days. I even straightened my hair. It’s so much easier just washing it and leaving it to dry naturally- no hairdryer, no straighteners, but I feel so much more “dressed” when I do it. It’s amazing how mood-altering clothing and make up can be.

Sunday: Embsay Reservoir
Ian and I did a 10km walk on Sunday. I’ve lived in Skipton for almost 14 years and never walked to Embsay, the neighbouring village. I’ve driven through, picked up and dropped off the children’s friends countless times, but I’ve never done it on foot. It’s a charming village and Embsay Reservoir is just perfect to walk around. We even saw some llamas. It took just over two hours so it’s a weekend rather than a weekday walk; a real treat. The photos speak for themselves.

Today
I went to Morrisons this morning. The queue to get in was the shortest to date with about eight people in it. Again, there was no strong white flour or yeast, (I’ve looked during every shopping trip because Ian wants to bake more bread), but I think everything else was well stocked. And this afternoon, Poppy and I went on a walk around Skipton Woods. She’s had her head down doing uni work for much of lockdown, so it was really nice to spend some time together.
Stay safe x

ask at the bakery counter for flour in Morrisons, they’re doing yeast too
Aha! What a great idea. Thank you so much. I’ll try that when I go next time. Have a lovely weekend xxx
