Happy Monday. Day 56 of Coronavirus lockdown and seven years since I published my first blogpost. I feel like I’ve come full circle since those early days when I wrote a short, daily post. It was, in the truest sense of the word, a blog. An online diary. A weblog. It evolved over the years and I documented changes in my life, both personal and professional.
Since being in lockdown, I have written and published something on most weekdays and some weekends. It’s real and it’s raw. No location shoots, no new outfits and only very few sponsored posts. It’s been a case of snapping a few outdoor photos on my phone when it’s been safe to do so and trying and to find new corners of my home to use as a backdrop. This is exactly what I did when I started. I enjoy creating both types of blog posts. When there are only five iPhone snaps to choose from, it takes just seconds to choose, edit and upload those I want to use. If we’ve done a full photoshoot with the camera, I usually end up with over 100 images to select from. I like the efficiency of this current way of working, but I miss the polish of an image taken with my camera. I enjoy being more “in the moment” but I miss styling an outfit. Swings and roundabouts.
Today’s Outfit
As it happens, we took the camera with us on our walk today because I wanted to capture the details of this broderie anglaise blouse. I bought it before lockdown to wear on a work trip to the USA, which was consequently cancelled. It’s the first time I’ve worn it and I absolutely love it. I’ve always loved broderie anglaise but this is just exquisite. The cut is very flattering. The puff-sleeve detail adds width at the shoulder, so the waist looks relatively narrower. The cute buttons at the cuff, the scalloped edge and the gorgeous embroidered detail, all simply divine.

Thank you
To those that have followed me from the very beginning, thank you. Thank you for reading, thank you for the lovely comments and feedback over the years and thank you for sharing the excitement at my engagement and upcoming wedding, (summer 2021). To those brands that have chosen me to work with, whether it’s been eyewear, clothing, shoes, jewellery, beauty products or interior accessories, it’s been a privilege and a pleasure. Thank you for trusting me to promote your products. I will always do my very best and I will always be authentic and honest. And I will always be incredibly grateful for the minute part of the internet that I call my own.
Stay safe and thank you, thank you, thank you for reading.
