It’s day 50, DAY 50 of Coronavirus lockdown. It’s cool again today and very grey. How is everybody? If you’d have asked me 50 days ago what I’d be excited about at this time, it would have been the Spring Bank Holiday weekend and our upcoming (now cancelled), holiday. As it is, I’m excited because the mint and basil cuttings that I took last week have developed roots. It’s such a simple process too, (I’ve linked to it here). I’ve got some little plant pots which I’ll plant the stems in, perhaps in another week when the roots are longer still and stronger. I’m finding joy in so many little things, a good, if unexpected feeling.

Poppy and I went to B&Q this morning which made us both very happy. There was no queue to get in and social distances were maintained brilliantly throughout. I got the living room paint paint via their Click and Collect service last week as well as some garden loppers. Said loppers were faulty which is why I went back today. We had a quick look round and I picked up some fence paint colour charts, which I’m also genuinely excited about. Great plans are afoot for the garden, so I’m collecting ideas and inspiration.
We had our weekly work catch-up via Zoom this afternoon. It was a discussion about the measures we will have in place to protect both patients and staff when we get back to work. It was all very reassuring and nice to see everybody’s face. In a similar vein, I drove past one of my friends on the way to B&Q. Seeing her wave and smile was wonderful! She, I assume was taking her daily exercise. We haven’t been as yet today. We usually go after 5 when Ian has finished work. I admit I’m a fair weather walker and these damp, cold days do little to entice me outdoors
Have a lovely evening and stay safe x
