Happy Friday! I know that many of us don’t get that Friday feeling anymore but it’s the start of the weekend nonetheless. To those that are still working, the NHS employees, supermarket staff, delivery drivers, postmen, binmen (and women), teachers, politicians, pharmacists, emergency services in all capacities and everyone else, thank you. I hope you get some time to rest.
Well, true to form, I’ve done a bit more upcycling/respraying. These handles belong to my dressing table, an original Victorian piece that was a 16th birthday gift from my parents. It has moved with me to four different houses in three different counties and I don’t think I could ever part with it. I wouldn’t dream of altering it in any way apart from the handles, which aren’t original. They’re a brass reproduction. Everything else metallic in my bedroom is silver, and they were scratched and tarnished, so I took them off and gave them a coat of silver spray paint. I painted a feature wall earlier this week and have ordered a new light fitting. It’s just the finishing touches now.
Next on the list is the sitting room. I have already got wallpaper for a feature wall. I’m just waiting for some tester pots of paint that I ordered online. Not surprisingly DIY and interiors websites are getting an unprecedented amount of traffic so everything is taking longer than normal.
Other than that, I’ve done a bit of work in the home office, (where the photograph above was taken) and some admin. As you can see, I’m wearing a breton top and jeans with leopard print trainers. It’s a failsafe combination and one I always enjoy wearing.
Stay safe x
