Has everyone had a good weekend so far? I’m glad that most of us here in the UK have had some reasonably good weather. I know it’s a terribly British thing to discuss, but it makes all the difference to our daily walks.
It’s been another day or two of home improvements and browsing for home accessories online. I think I miss being able to go to B&Q, TKMaxx and Homesense at will, more than any other type of shop. What it has done though is made me look elsewhere; Etsy has become a great source of inspiration. As has Toolstation. Who’d have thought? My quest for the right colour of paint to go with the “gilver” metallic animal print wallpaper I have for the living room continues. I have two paint tester pots on order from Laura Ashley and three from Farrow and Ball. I’m looking for a warmish mid grey, not too taupe and not too blue. A dove grey I think. So far I have sampled one from Dulux and one from Johnstone’s but neither is right. I’m planning to paper the wall though this week.
Ian made a lovely paella last night. It was divine. I don’t think I could ever tire of being cooked for, and because we’ve all been together throughout lockdown, both he and Poppy have cooked a lot. I’m getting very used to it and am looking forward to more of their dishes during the next three weeks of lockdown. I’ve always loved food, but at the moment my day seems to revolve around what we’re going to eat next. I don’t think I’m alone in that.
Today’s blouse is one of my spring favourites. It’s in its fourth year now and even though this season’s sleeve trend is for puffed-sleeves, I still think these rather voluminous ones look fresh and current. And even if I didn’t, I’d wear it anyway because I love it. I put the jacket on before we left the house but I found that I really didn’t need it. It was glorious outside.

Stay safe and have a lovely evening x
