I think today is the most un-Saturday-like Saturday ever. It’s day 12 of the Coronavirus lockdown and I’ve done pretty much what I’ve done every day since it began. Housework, a few photographs and a walk. We’re all in good spirits though. We have a busy family chat and there’s always plenty to plan and look forward to. Spring has sprung; it feels a little milder out there and there are green shoots and new life all around.
As I write, I should have been en-route to the NEC in Birmingham, along with the rest of my work friends. Benjamin Opticians, the practice in which I work, is a finalist in the Optician awards and the whole team were going to the awards. It’s a black-tie event, so I was looking forward to getting my gladrags on. It’s been rearranged for September though and I know we’ll celebrate in style whether or not we win.
So instead of wearing a full-length evening dress, I’m wearing super soft cosy star leggings. They’re from Pickle London who I’ve mentioned a few times in these Lockdown posts. They’re perfect for lounging in but are smart enough to wear outside, (unlike some leisurewear which looks like pyjamas). They are high-waisted and have cuffed ankles so they’re suitable for all heights and sizes. I’m 5 ft 9 and they’re plenty long enough.

Stay safe and enjoy your Saturday evening.
