I keep wanting to say Happy Friday, but then remember it’s actually only Thursday. For most of us it isn’t going to feel like a normal Easter weekend. We won’t be seeing family, we won’t be having an Easter egg hunt, and there will be no traditional celebration, religious or otherwise. Saturday night should have been the triplets’ 70th birthday party, followed by a celebratory lunch on Sunday. Instead, we’ll all be at our respective homes. It’s disappointing of course, but I’m thankful for every day that passes in which we’re all still safe and healthy.
I mentioned the other day that I managed to get some plain flour when I did the food shop. I was genuinely ecstatic because the home-baking shelves were bare the week before. It was for Ian who wanted to bake bread which he did yesterday.

Poppy has also been busy in the kitchen. She cooked dinner last night and lunch today. It’s such a treat being cooked and baked for and something I could never tire of.

Speaking of kitchens, I have done a little DIY in the kitchen over the 24 hours. I’m going to write about it in a standalone blog post to follow immediately after this one.
I’m going to take a short break from blogging for a few days. As sure as eggs is eggs, I will still end up taking lots of photos of our Easter weekend, but I want to enjoy the time with Ian and the kids without needing to stop and write about it. I’ll resume these lockdown diaries next week though. In the meantime, I hope you have a lovely Easter weekend, no matter how it might pan out and most importantly, stay safe and thank you for reading x
