Day 24 of Coronavirus lockdown. I decided to mix things up a bit and go to Aldi instead of Morrisons. A change is as good as a rest so they say. There was a short queue to get in but the whole system was well managed. It was actually quite nice standing in the sunshine. I’m grateful that it’s not cold or wet. My brother and his family in NZ are heading into winter along with the rest of the Southern Hemisphere. It must be harder there than it is for us here. Aldi had no peppers, no sweet potatoes, no flour, yeast or baking ingredients and very little milk. They did however have loo roll, pasta and passata. Again, I’m slightly incredulous that I feel this is something worth reporting back on, but in this strangest of times, it feels newsworthy. Oh they did have compost too. I know a lot of us have been gardening in some form and compost has been hard to come by. We had a conversation about the lack of compost on our blogger’s group chat the other day; soil rather than shoes is the latest “must-have”.
I’m wearing the same as I wore yesterday, the broderie anglaise blouse with jeans. I was too apathetic to change into something cooler which was a bit daft really, especially as I’ve been changing bedding and mopping floors. The photo above is of Ian and I on our daily walk yesterday.
The highlight of my day though wasn’t going to Aldi, it was the receipt of this fabulous print I ordered last week. This Killer Queen quote seemed absolutely perfect for someone who loves both Queen and champagne.
Stay safe and enjoy the weekly clap for our NHS and key workers. x
