The Pantone colour of the year for 2020 is 19-4052 Classic Blue. This timeless and enduring blue hue is said to instil calm and confidence. It’s a shade that is reminiscent of the sky at dusk, so we perceive it as being restful. It brings a sense of tranquillity and is said to aid concentration. The colour blue is a longstanding favourite throughout the world. Studies as early as 1941 indicated that the most preferred hues were bluish. It’s a predilection that isn’t limited to a particular geography, gender or even political affiliation. Everyone seems to like blue. Consequently, it is viewed as non-threatening, conservative and traditional.
Pantone chose it to highlight our desire for a dependable and stable foundation on which to build, as we cross the threshold into a new era. A wise choice I’d say.
Whether or not you follow trends and keep an eye on the fashion radar, most of us have something blue in the wardrobe, even if it is just a pair of denim jeans. Blue works well with a whole spectrum of other colours either as the star of the show or as an accent. Blue eyewear is therefore a wise choice for work and play, for smart and casual and from dawn until dusk.
The STEPPER STS-40168 is elegant and understated. The metallic blue stainless-steel design is reminiscent of inky skies and it is as light as a feather. The black bridge and side detail give it a grounded, grown-up look so make it the perfect choice to take you from desk to dinner.

Not only that, it embraces another current trend- the double rim. A multi-tasking frame for multi-tasking women like us.

A version of this article first appeared on the STEPPER blog, for which I write a bi-monthly piece. This STEPPER eyewear is therefore part of my paid partnership. I have worn this style in a turquoise colourway in this blog post with some fabulous green and blue velvet trousers. I

That’s really interesting about blue Liz, especially got me thinking about my own predilection for all the shades of blue.
Lovely specs too!
Thank you MT. The psychology of colour is interesting isn’t it. In the current situation with the Coronavirus, it seems to be a good choice- little did Pantone know quite how much we need stability! xxx
I adore these double rim frames, Liz – such a cool style! Weirdly, I’m not that much of a fan of blue (wearing it I mean). I guess it’s because I love all the warm colours so much (makes sense seeing as summer is my favourite month)! But I love blue on others – that Celine outfit is TDF – and I love how the blue of these frames contrast with your hair 😀

You are definitely a warm-colour girl yes.And I agree about the Celine outfit. The double rim is a nice little trend isn’t it and quite subtly interpreted in these Stepper frames xxx
