With storms Ciara and Dennis wreaking havoc across the country, it’s hard to believe that spring is just around the corner. As much as I love the opulent, glossy textures and deep hues of winter, I’m ready to embrace my spring dresses; but it’s too cold. (I think that much is obvious from these photos!) Of course, one simple solution is to add layers and wear them with tights and boots, like I did with this white and black spotty dress.
You might recognise the style as being from Closet London. They invited me to choose something from the new Colour Block collection and it took less than two seconds to decide on this one. I have several other dresses in the same style, so I know that the fit is very flattering. It’s a versatile shape and easy to dress up or down. The neutral colours mean that footwear, eyewear and other accessories in any colour will work.
Looking at the photos, I have to be honest and say that I don’t love the red boots with the dress. I didn’t check the outfit in a mirror before we set off to take the photos. I wish I had. I’d have either swapped the black opaque tights for nude ones, or, worn black ankle boots instead of red. I’ll know for next time.
This black and white spotty dress is a gift from Closet London. I’m under no obligation to blog about it. All they ask for is a post on social media. I’m always very happy to do so because the clothing, especially this style, suits my tastes perfectly. The other reason is that I like the brand, particularly because almost everything is made in London.
