Racing driver Dean Stirling and stuntman Mark Slaughter founded Jabrock sunglasses in 2017. Their aim was to create exceptional eyewear using Jabroc,® a unique wooden material used in motorsport. The luxury designs are created in the UK and are hand-made and finished piece by piece.
What Is Jabroc® Wood?
Jabroc® has been used in Formula 1 cars since 1994. It is the so-called carbon fibre of the wood world because it has half the strength and just 20% of the weight of steel. Because it is natural wood, every piece of eyewear develops individual colour and grain characteristics. Every pair of Jabrock sunglasses is therefore unique.

Jabrock x Paul Oz
Jabrock and artist Paul Oz collaborated to create a limited edition of 10 pairs, each with its individual number hand-painted on the side. Paul Oz is known for his explosive style and bold colours. This style celebrates the British Grand Prix and uses the colours of the Union Flag. It is a stunning design.
I won my Jabrock sunglasses in a prize draw at this year’s 100% Optical. I walked past the stand several times to look at the designs. It was always full, so I put my business card into a dish so they could send information after the show. I only realised it was a prize draw when I got an email saying I’d won. Thank you Jabrock.
