Every style blogger will tell you that it’s very difficult to get photographs during the winter months. Most of us prefer to shoot outside in the natural daylight. At this time of year there’s only a small window of opportunity because the days are so short. It’s tricky to get photographs inside under artificial light, however, I asked Ian to take a few snaps of this sequin tuxedo jacket and trousers for Instagram before I went out. They turned out better than I thought so I decided to put them in this very short blog post.
I bought this sequin tuxedo last year in the sale. It’s by Victoria Beckham and it’s the first thing I’ve bought from her range. I love it. The cut is beautiful and the quality is excellent. I’ve worn the trousers without the jacket a few times, (the last time for a fabulous birthday meal in Amsterdam) but this was the first time I’d worn it as a suit.
I wore it to dinner with two of my closest friends. The sequin tuxedo jacket is busy enough, so I wore it with a plain black camisole. It needed something to break the black up though, so I added a statement necklace and leopard-print patent leather shoes. I took simple black eyewear, (so I could read them menu), and it turned out that my friends had the same idea.
The last time I wore the sequin tuxedo trousers was when Ian and I were in Amsterdam for my birthday. I wore them with a star print blouse and gold trainers.
I always love to wear a dress, but it’s nice to wear something different. This sequin tuxedo makes a super Christmas party outfit and it’s a great alternative to a little black dress. I know I’ll wear it for years to come. It’s been a good investment.

How perfect. That is the DEFINITION of investment dressing, a good quality piece you can style so many ways. Gorgeous photos Liz (and Ian!). xx
Thank you Lisa. Yes, it’s something I’ll keep and wear for years xxx
