Apart from to work, and with the exception of jeans, I rarely wear trousers. This red velvet trouser suit therefore, is a bit of a departure. I saw it a while back and knew it would be perfect for our annual Secret Santa Girls’ Night In. I’ll wear it too with a navy silk blouse to 100% Optical in January. The jacket and trousers are versatile separates. I wore the jacket with my red heart midi dress for our early Christmas Day celebrations and I can think of countless other times I’ll wear it. I’m imagining it with a white cotton shirt and cigarette trousers and over several of my other dresses. And the trousers? Well, they’d look sweet with a (tasteful) Christmas jumper and ballet flats for Boxing Day.

This time I wore the red velvet trouser suit with a black and silver sequin cami. This is a birthday gift from my friend Sally who knows me well. They come in several different colours and it’s taken all of my willpower not to buy one in every colour. Put it with jeans and heels and you have a perfect party outfit.

The trousers come in several different colourways. You can see them all here. I have them in this gorgeous navy and green print. Click here to take you to the blog post which has more details.
The jacket also comes in a selection of plains and prints which you can see here. The suit is, at the time of writing, in the Boden clearance.

Red is a great colour for Christmas, although I wear it year round.
I agree completely Lorna. It’s such a vibrant, uplifting colour xxx
