Poppy, Harry and I had a fantastic four days in Nerja. It’s a place we love and could never tire of. It was our third visit and we stayed in the same hotel because, quite simply, it’s perfect. The food is divine, the staff are delightful and the location, on El Balcón De Europa, is spectacular. It’s about a forty minute drive from Malaga airport, which is always super efficient, so we were in our room about an hour after we landed.
For Poppy and Harry it was a welcome post-exam break. For me, it was time to stop spinning plates, at least for a while. I always feel disproportionately happy when I don’t have to do the food shopping. I’m sure all parents will identify with the voracious appetite of a teenage boy and the frequency of supermarket visits it entails. So it was heaven to eat in the gorgeous hotel restaurant. This little holiday was everything we’d hoped for. We lay on the beach, chatted, played in the sea and read. But most of all, we enjoyed each other’s company.
This 1950s-style dress, the “Bonbon” by Live Lagom couldn’t be any sweeter. The candy floss pink bodice with its subtle jacquard pattern has removable bow trims on the shoulders and the strawberry red skirt, complete with pockets, drapes beautifully. It’s fun, carefree and very easy to wear. Not only that, it doesn’t crease and doesn’t need ironing. To me, that makes a perfect dress.
I knew when I bought these rainbow wedges that they’d complete a lot of summer outfits. They’re light-hearted, just like the rest of the outfit.
The Perfect Pair
What is the perfect eyewear to go with a sweet dress like this? Well I can think of nothing better than my fabulous Feb31st red heart sunglasses. They’re fun, happy and worn by Emma Bunton. They’re made to order from sustainable wood so there’s no waste. And, they’re beautifully made. What more can I say?
J’adore.

Such a cute dress and pockets too! I have a weakness for dresses with pockets.
I had to laugh when I read the grocery shopping line Liz. Omg I absolutely hate grocery shopping! And by the way hoovering up the entire shop in 2 days is par for the course here too!
Glad you 3 had such a fab holiday darling xx
Thank you Michelle. Yes, I always wonder how mums with more children than I have manage. It is THE biggest chore isn’t it. I love cooking, but my goodness, grocery shopping takes soooo much time! xxxx
Liz you look perfect in pink (that dress is wonderful!) – and I’m so glad you had a fabulous time in Nerja. I can imagine how good it was not to have to shop or cook for a few restful days!
