This dress is one of those that fits into several categories. Its simple shape and drapey navy fabric give it a versatility which deems it as suitable for work as it does for cocktails, a pub lunch or a shopping trip. With nude tights and simple court shoes, it fits in my working wardrobe very well indeed. Statement shoes, earrings and a clutch, like I’m wearing here, dress it up for drinks. Opaque or ribbed tights and a pair of flat knee-high boots give it a more casual air. Whichever way, it’s an excellent, classic staple dress and one I’m glad to have.
The multi-coloured sequin Union Flag clutch bag has been among my favourite accessories for longer than I can remember. Possibly ten years. It gets comments and compliments every time I wear it and, quite simply, it makes me happy. I wonder if we will see a plethora of Union Flag inspired accessories now that the Spice Girls have announced, (and sold out) their tour dates.
And you might recognise the shoes as Ted Baker. They’re about three years old. The colours are exquisite. The blush floral print is pretty and feminine, while the shape of the shoe is sophisticated, elegant and womanly.

I have a busy and exciting few days ahead. Today, (Monday), I’m on an course learning about the OCT (optical coherence tomographer), which is a retinal scanner we use in practice. And on Thursday, Ian and I are going to Madrid for a few days. Life is busy and varied and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
