I don’t know about you, but I spend ages looking at Christmas gift ideas for teenagers. My daughter Poppy is 17. For years, I filled her Christmas stocking with makeup, bath bombs, fluffy socks, stationery, body spray and so on. I took enormous pleasure in buying each and every gift and she was always very grateful. And for Harry, who’s now 15, I was onto a winner year after year with goalie gloves and football boots. It was really very easy.
They’re growing up quickly though and their personalities are ever-evolving. I know them so well. Their likes and dislikes, their needs and wants are ever more apparent. Because of this, I spend a lot longer choosing gifts for them than I used to. I enjoy it as much as I ever did, probably even more. It’s such a great feeling when I find something I know they’ll love.
I have perused the Boots Christmas Gift Guide ever since being a teenager myself. So I was thrilled when they invited me to take part in their “50 Days of Christmas” campaign. For the purpose of this post, they allocated a budget of £100 to choose and review two gifts. I knew straight away that I would choose something for Poppy and Harry.
Christmas Gift Ideas For Teenagers: Girls
Boots has an extensive range of Christmas gifts both instore and online. The Christmas Gifts for Her are helpfully categorised by recipient, including teenage girl, mum and wife/girlfriend. There is something in the teenage girl section to suit all budgets, from £3 for a face mask, up to £70 for a Real Techniques makeup brush set. Gift sets include those from popular teen brands such as Jack Wills, Soap & Glory and Yankee Candle. And there are some fabulous makeup sets too, but Poppy has drawers full. I did consider perfume, but I bought her some recently from the airport. I decided to choose something that she wouldn’t ordinarily buy for herself. Something indulgent yet useful (she’s a pragmatic and down-to-earth young woman).
No 7 Sonic Cleansing Brush
Poppy has always wanted a sonic cleansing brush. As soon as I saw it, I knew it was perfect.
Batteries are included and it comes with a stand. It’s water-resistant so it’s suitable for use in the shower, an excellent feature.
She was thrilled when I gave it to her. She said that it’s something she’s always wanted. I knew she’d be pleased.
She’s used it every evening to remove makeup and clean her face. She loves it. Her skin felt softer after the first use and she said because it feels like she’s pampering her skin while doing something routine. I’m delighted she loves it as much as I thought she would.
Christmas Gift Ideas For Teenagers: Boys
The Christmas Gifts For Him are similarly categorised by recipient. Again, there is something for every budget from a £3 packet of gobstoppers to a £50 go-karting experience. Again there are some great gift-sets and ideas from popular teen brands such as Superdry, Nandos and Jack Wills.
As both goalkeeper and rugby player, Harry is often quite muddy. However, he takes great care of his appearance. (I wish the same could be said for his bedroom). He showers at least once a day, he goes to the gym regularly and gets his hair cut every three weeks. And, just recently, he’s begun to go out socially. He’s growing up.
Gucci Fragrance Set
He uses a lot of “ordinary” shower gel and deodorant so I decided to treat him to a “designer” fragrance gift set. Something he’d be proud to use and proud to name. He looks up to my brother, a Gucci-fan, enormously. So I chose this Gucci Guilty set, £52, which contains a 50ml eau de toilette and a deodorant stick. It’s hard to describe a fragrance, but this one is light and fresh. Perfect for a teenage boy or young adult. I knew Harry would love this set as soon as he saw, (and smelled), it.
The packaging is spot on and the bottle has excellent shelf appeal.
Harry was indeed delighted with his Gucci Guilty. I know he’s impressed with my choice and very grateful for this early Christmas gift!
And Finally…
I spent quite a lot of time looking online at Boots. There really is something for everyone and I’m going to order some gifts for other people too. There are several special offers running currently including 3 for 2, so it’s a good time to get organised before the December rush. Let me know what you have got your eye on and for whom!
Happy Shopping!

Lovely post, Lizzy. Boots has some very good gift ideas this year. However, I’m not sure it would be my first port of call for fragrances due to the expensive prices compared to other retailers who charge less for the same product. Boots is very pricey for aftershaves and perfumes, it has to be said.
Aww, thank you Julie. I do know that yes, there are other retailers that charge less. I find it works very well though with the online offers that Boots has. There is often a significant discount on fragrance gift sets in particular. And yes, there are some lovely ideas for all budgets, ages, tastes etc xxxxx
Fabulous choices, Liz – depending on the teenager I find they’re either incredibly easy to buy for or impossible to buy for… and sometimes girls are harder than boys!! I’ve always always checked Boots for Christmas presents 🙂

Thank you Catherine. And yes, you’re absolutely right. It depends totally on the teenager. I have always found Poppy easy to buy for and because Harry does so much football, I have always gone down the sports route for his gifts. The three-for-two offers are always great at Boots aren’t they! xxxx
