I’ve always loved animal print, but grey leopard is my absolute favourite. I knew I had several exciting events and occasions in the diary, and I wanted to find something new that I could wear again and again, throughout the year, but that would always feel special. This grey leopard wrap dress ticked all of the boxes.
On this occasion, a 21st birthday party, I wore it with sheer tights and ankle boots. I have some flat knee-high black riding style boots that will be perfect over opaque tights in winter. Ditto ankle-length biker style boots. And what to wear over the top? A denim jacket, a leather biker, a velvet blazer, faux fur, or a smart(er) midi-length coat all look great. I’ve tried them all. And in spring and summer, flip-flops, espadrilles and sandals will look equally as good as these high-heeled ankle boots do. This truly is a dress for all seasons and many occasions.
It’s by Lily and Lionel and this particular style is exclusive to Asos.
I wore it first for the 21st birthday party on the Saturday before last. I wore it to a reception and dinner when I was in Stuttgart earlier this week, and I shall wear it for dinner with Ian tomorrow night and on Sunday afternoon for a family dinner. Four times in two weeks is good-going I’d say, so the cost per wear is decreasing rapidly.
It is a true-wrap dress with the most gorgeous detail at the neckline and on the sleeves.
The fabric is beautifully floaty and it dances in the breeze.
Perhaps a little too much at times…My grey ankle boots are from Lotus last year and are no longer available but they work beautifully, their gold and black detail a nice compliment to the grey leopard.
My statement earrings are the Toolally LBD Drop Hoops. Despite their size, they are very lightweight and very comfortable. I adore them and always get a lot of compliments when I wear them.
And the bag is the “Good As Gold” pouch by Katie Loxton.
Here are Poppy and I in action at the 21st birthday party, the dress’s first outing.
And here I am with my friend Liz in Stuttgart on Sunday. Clearly the dress seems to enjoy being accessorised with a glass of something too…
