A month or so ago, Trinny London contacted me via Instagram to see if I would like to try their make-up. This brand is the brainchild of Trinny Woodall whom I adore, so I was delighted. They asked me to use the Match2Me tool on their website to find the make-up to best suit my hair, eye and skin colour. I did so and they sent me a selection of products in little stacking pots as well as a BB cream.
Trinny London Lip Colours
Lip2Cheek
This as the name suggests is a multi-tasking product to use on both lips and cheeks. It has a lovely, easy to blend creamy formula. I have used cream blush in the past and found it difficult to apply evenly, but this glides across the cheeks. It has a slightly dewy finish. I have it in Freddie. This is a terracotta shade that looks really rather dark in the pot. However, it is much more subtle and very flattering. I’m wearing it on my lips and my cheeks in this photo.
Lip Love
Lip Love is a long-lasting, intense lip colour. It doesn’t dry at all and nor does it bleed. Because it is a deeper colour, I found that I needed a lip brush to apply it, rather than my fingers, but that was really no trouble at all.
I tried it in Valentina, a flattering darkish pink.
Lip Glow/Lip Gloss
Lip Glow is lightweight, sheer lip gloss that moisturises and plumps, without the weight. I usually find glosses to be too sticky. My hair ends up getting stuck on my lips and subsequently smearing gloss across the rest of my face. This is completely non-sticky.
I tried it in Maddie, which is a very light muted peachy-pink. I have to be honest and say that it is too pale for my taste. It is toooo barely-there. But I like the texture/formulation a lot, so I’m going to order it in a deeper shade.
Trinny London Face
BFF Skin Perfector SPF 30
I honestly don’t think I have ever understood what a BB cream actually is. So, I’m going to say little else other than that this cream is brilliant. It has SPF 30 and comes in a pump-action tube. It can be worn alone or under make-up and it evens out the skin tone to give a lovely soft finish.
I have it in the lightest shade and to be truthful, it looks like a normal “white” cream. I cannot see a single hint of colour in it at all. But I’m glad about this, because it doesn’t alter the colour of my foundation. It feels very nourishing, but is lightweight and easily absorbed. I think this is an excellent product and I will buy it for myself in future.
Face Finish
Face Finish is a mattifying cream in a soft pinky shade. This too is an excellent product and one I will buy for myself. It reduces shine, softens the appearance of fine lines and imperfections and gives a beautiful finish. I use my fingers to dab it wherever I deem it necessary. The little pot means it’s very portable. It does the job of a powder without the cakey, dry finish. I highly recommend it.
I hope this has been useful. There is so much on the Trinny London website including Trinny’s musings. You can also see all of the make-up on members of the Trinny Tribe; women just like you and me who want to look our best and who love makeup. I am very impressed with this brand and will definitely invest in some more products.

It’s time for the second round of university open days with Poppy. We’re travelling to Bristol this afternoon ready for the open day tomorrow. (After I’ve had my hair cut- look how long my fringe is in the photos above!) We live about a four-hour drive away so we’re staying in a hotel tonight, after dinner out in Bristol. I’m planning on putting a few things on Insta-Stories and Instagram, so do keep an eye out. In the meantime though, if you’re doing uni open days for the first time, I wrote this post before summer about our experiences so far and how to make the most out of university open days.
Have a lovely weekend.

Big fan of the BFF over here Liz!
A hint of coverage, moisturizer and the spf30 make it a really good daily cream for me. You know I don’t wear much make up so it’s perfect. Although for those who like more coverage I’d say it’s not going to work.
Have fun with Poppy this weekend my love. I can tell it’ll be a special time for both of you, making memories together (without the boys) before she flies the nest. Ouch that’s hard to say. Love you xx
Delicious coloured lipsticks Lizzy, I’ve only just started hearing about this brand, but it sounds good. Jacqui Mummabstylish
