Sophia Alexia Ruffle Wrap Dress
This Sophia Alexia ruffle wrap dress is a maxi of dreams. It was a recent gift from London based designer Sophia Alexia and I can’t tell you how happy I am that the weather was warm enough for me to wear it at the weekend. I didn’t want to have to wait until next summer. Although, with that being said, a slip underneath and a denim or even a biker jacket over the top would take it through early autumn rather nicely. Swap the sandals for trainers or closed-toe wedges and you could even wear a pair of fine tights with it too.
The Sophia Alexia ruffle wrap dress is made from beautifully soft rayon, hence the gorgeous drape. It’s a true wrap dress with an inside tie. The outer tie enhances the figure and emphasises the waterfall ruffles. It’s also a true maxi in that it reaches the floor. For reference, I’m 5 ft 9, (175 cm) tall and I’m wearing the “long” length which is two inches longer than the short option.
Rose Gold Tie Sandals
My rose gold tie sandals are by Daisy Roots. My cousin sent them to me from her independent shoe shop, Funky Lil Feet. I used to buy the Daisy Roots pull-on leather pram shoes for Poppy and Harry when they were babies. In fact, I have kept each of their first pairs, so cute are they and so sentimental am I. I knew therefore, before I even tried them, that these sandals would be super-comfy and beautifully made. And they didn’t disappoint. The leather is soft and supple and the foot bed is slightly shaped and very supportive. I truly think one could walk for hours in these.
The rose gold is subtle which I like. I’ve worn them with boyfriend jeans and also with denim shorts as well as other maxi dresses. They’re a very useful neutral and versatile addition.
A Mix Of Jewellery
I’ve got a lot of new jewellery over summer and I’ve really enjoyed wearing it and mixing different pieces together. The divine apatite gemstone necklace and bracelet are the perfect complement to the Caribbean colours in my Sophia Alexia ruffle wrap dress.
I added my silver angel wing necklace from local jeweller So Belle. I met the lovely lady behind this brand just before my holiday. She’s called Charlotte and is absolutely gorgeous in every way. Like so many of us, she is a busy mum working hard to build her business, so I’d love you to go and look at her website. The good thing too is that she sells the pendants separately from the chains, so you can make the necklace whatever length you’d like. I wore the pendant on a longer chain when I wore the flamboyant black lace beach dress in a recent blog post. Charlotte has very kindly given me a discount code to use online or in the shop. Use LIZZY10 to get 10% off.
And once again, I wore a pair of Toolally earrings. This too is a local brand but one which has enjoyed a lot of success in the fashion press including Vogue. These, rather fabulously, are called Fandangos.
Fabulous New Trinny London Makeup
Trinny London is Trinny Woodall’s makeup range. They sent me a selection of products to try a few weeks ago. As always, I wanted to try them properly before I mentioned them here. I like them a lot, so I shall give them a lot more air time in an upcoming autumn beauty blog I have planned. But for now, in these images, I am wearing the Face Finish, which is a mattifying balm and the Lip2Cheek colour in Freddie on my cheeks. As the name suggests, this is a cream product suitable for both lips and cheeks. Freddie is a lovely flattering soft and subtle terracotta shade that is much lighter when on than it looks in the pot!
