This summer, for me at least, has been all about the maxi dress. They are undeniably “on-trend”, but I think it’s the ever-present romantic in me that enjoys wearing them so much, particularly if they’re floaty or have tassels or ruffles. Not only that, they’re easy to wear because they lend themselves to flat sandals and flip-flops; they don’t need a heel unlike some dress styles.
Raspberry Ruffle Maxi
I bought this raspberry ruffle maxi just before I went away to Porto Santo. It was an online impulse buy, but one which I think will be a useful transitional piece, given the sleeve length. It has a hint of the flapper about it and I think it could easily be dressed up for a wedding or special occasion with a pair of heeled Mary Janes and a long necklace.
Because this ruffle maxi dress is a warm shade of pink, I teamed it with gold accessories. My beaded starfish sandals from Aspiga Beach are comfortable and super sparkly and I have worn them numerous times throughout summer, both at home and on holiday.
The gold sideways heart and shooting star necklaces, along with the infinity name bracelet are all gifts from Onecklace. I love wearing the necklaces together. All of this jewellery is available in silver and rose gold platings too. I quite often mix metals and think one necklace in each colour would look very effective.
I’ve had this “Good as Gold” Katie Loxton pouch for several years now and I always enjoy using it. At first glance, it might seem too small to be useful, but a lot more fits than one might first think. I use mine when I’m travelling to keep documents and passports safe and then as an evening clutch bag. Please excuse the all-inclusive wristband.
