Last Friday night was the end of season celebration and awards ceremony for my son’s district football club. The team is based in Harrogate so the party took place at Ripley Castle, just a few miles outside of the town. It was another gorgeously warm evening so I wore my one-shouldered tropical palm print maxi dress again but with different accessories. (I wore it just a few weeks ago in this post all about the tropical trend. At the time of writing it is still available at the reduced price of £34 in a few sizes).
Teal and Blue Accessories
Accessories have the ability to change the whole look and feel of an outfit. However, a dress such as this is too distinctive to be a chameleon, but that’s not to say that I don’t enjoy wearing different things with it.
These teal sunglasses are by Via Spiga at Zyloware. I love the colour and shape and find them very comfortable.
In keeping with the blue theme, I wore these fabulous Toolally earrings. (Throughout July, you can get 10% off with the code Lizzy10). They’re made from acetate so are very lightweight. Not only that, the metal fixings are gold vermeil, so a quality product all around. These are the Peacocks in arctic blue.
My steel and navy floral watch is by Cath Kidston. The silver bracelets are by Bella Jane Jewellery and I’ve had them for almost five years now. In fact, the star and the tree bracelets were among the very first things I received as a gift as a blogger. Annabel Davies, the lady behind the brand is wonderful and she made the anchor one at my request when I was feeling particularly adrift.
Ripley Castle
It’s so rare to be able to walk around in the evening without needing an extra layer. It was boiling when we arrived at 6.30pm and stayed very warm until we left three hours later.
They screened the Brazil v Belgium World Cup Match and kept the doors to the function room open so guests could wander in and out to their hearts’ content once the formalities were over.
It was my first visit to Ripley Castle. it’s absolutely beautiful and I have it on good authority that the tea room is excellent too! This is somewhere I’d like to revisit sometime soon.

Three words Liz: You’re a knockout. Only you could make me forget to look at the pictures of the castle (which looks lovely) but I was basking in the glory of your beauty and that glorious dress! Another pair of top Toolallys btw… they don’t have any dodgy designs, do they – they’re ALL fabulous!
