This draped roses dress draws compliments every time I wear it. The unusual shape and the bold red floral print are particularly eye-catching and it always makes me feel special. I wore it for a dinner date with Ian but because I’ve worn it and shared it on a blog post previously, (last year when we had a weekend away in Scarborough). Because of this I hadn’t planned on photographing it this time. However, the evening sunlight was so beautiful that it seemed a shame not to; albeit we were hungry and ready for a glass of wine, so were very quick!

The dress is called Wren’s Wonderland and it was from the fabulously named Alice’s Pig last year. It’s still available though and is actually half price at £44, although there is low stock in some sizes. It fits true to size I’d say and just so you know, I’m 5 ft 9 (175cm) and am wearing a size 12. It comes with a separate slip underneath because the skirt is semi sheer.

Red Espadrilles and Freshwater Pearls

I have a thing about red shoes, but it’s only very recently that I have added red espadrilles to my collection. These are from Next and are also available in a shimmery metallic and in navy. I like wearing wedges because they’re easy to walk in, (we walked to the restaurant), yet they give enough height to make me feel dressed up.

Because it was an impromtu photoshoot and we had a table booked, I didn’t ask Ian to photograph my bracelet in detail. It’s freshwater pearls though with a bronze-coloured heart t-bar fastening. It’s one of my favourite pieces of Danon jewellery and it’s available in my boutique, along with a matching necklace.

Isn’t it fabulous when we can eat and drink outside in the evening. So rare in this country and definitely something to make the most of.
