In recent blog posts, I’ve written about some bright and some neutral new additions to my holiday wardrobe. Today it’s the turn of red and coral. I suppose strictly speaking these fit into the “bright” category too, but because I have quite a few pieces, I’ve given them a category of their own. As I’ve gone along, I’ve added everything to a holiday wardrobe category on my “Get The Look” page too. It’s easier to see how things mix and match that way.
As I said in the post before last, (the one about my blog’s fifth birthday), I consider posts like this to be a “show and tell,” to give an idea of what things look like on a “real” person, rather than on the hanger or website. I took the photos myself using a tripod and remote and I know they’re neither inspirational nor aspirational. But I do believe they are useful. By the time I’m away on holiday in August, retailers will be heading towards Autumn Winter. We need to buy our holiday pieces before they sell out! I can’t wait to photograph them again when I’m actually away on holiday.
Red Holiday Wardrobe
I have a lot of red in my wardrobe. I’ve always loved it because it’s so vibrant and uplifting.
This red and white embroidered dress is from Next. It’s loose and comfortable and it has pockets! Always a winning feature. The floral detail is beautiful. This dress will be perfect for wearing over a bikini for breakfast and lunch.
These red tassel earrings are a fabulous addition to my red holiday wardrobe, although I’ve worn them several times already. They’re large so they make a statement, but because they’re lightweight, they’re comfortable and easy to pack.
Over the last few seasons, I have added to my espadrille collection. They’re timeless additions to any holiday wardrobe and work with dresses, shorts, jumpsuits and jeans. I know I’ll wear these red espadrille wedges over and over. They come in a gorgeous metallic shimmer and in navy too.
How cute is this white and red spotted bikini? I like the ties on the bottoms and also the detachable halterneck strap.
Coral Holiday Wardrobe
I usually wear a bikini when I’m on the beach but I always take a one piece swimsuit on holiday too, mainly for watersports and other activities. There’s less chance of a wardrobe malfunction. This coral halterneck swimsuit by Seaspray is not only beautiful quality, it is very flattering. It has soft moulded cups and a power mesh lining in the tummy area.
This coral and grey embroidered dress is from Aspiga beach, a brand I love them for two reasons. Firstly because everything they sell is beautiful and full of sunshine and secondly because it’s a Fair Trade brand.
The grey embroidery and tassels compliment the coral and again, this dress will be perfect for wearing over my swimwear for breakfast or a casual lunch.
There’s still time to get free delivery at Aspiga Beach too. Just use the code LIZZYLOVES at the checkout. It’s valid throughout May, so do head over and take a look.

And Finally…
I’m going into hospital this afternoon for my uterine ablation. You might remember that I went for a hysteroscopy earlier this year to investigate heavy bleeding. I’m hoping that the ablation will cure the problem or at least bring about a vast improvement. It will be carried out under general anaesthetic and I’m hoping to be home later today. I have a blog post written and scheduled for later this week but I may need a few more days to recover- I’ll just have to see. I’ll be back as soon as I can!

Hope all goes well Liz, thinking about you and sending virtual hugs 🤗
Great blog post … I really love all your choices. Espadrilles are really great aren’t they? Definitely tick all the boxes… stylish, comfy, great colours etc. I’ve navy, a nude/ coffee shade and silver … as well as 5 pairs of the flat leather ones … ( Seasalt sells this style)I I bought my first pair in Spain around 12 years ago in navy leather … they’ve been worn and worn … have never needed heeling and almost look like new!!
Take care and remember to relax and be kind to yourself once your home… don’t rush things. Rosemary 😘xxx
