Embroidery has been around for a long, long time, but this most feminine adornment hasn’t always been in fashion. In recent seasons, it’s been increasingly popular on certain items: jeans and boots for example. However, embroidery is a key trend for Spring 2018. The high street is full of blouses, jumpers, dresses and accessories with bold, confident designs. Dainty needlepoint need not apply. Bright floral embroidery in a multitude of colours adds a happy, almost naive vibe and I for one am embracing it.
Embroidered Jumper Outfit
This *embroidered jumper means I can wear this spring trend right now, even though it’s still very much winter. (Much like when I wore a faux fur jacket with a spring jumpsuit). It’s an over-sized style but the blouson sleeves add definition and prevent it from looking shapeless. The flowers are beautiful and the colour palette is exquisite. This jumper can be dressed up with a sparkly clutch and glittery heels and it’d look amazing with a pencil skirt; another spring trend.
I wore mine to travel to London so kept it casual and comfortable. The skinny jeans, (actually described as leggings), are from Next and available in different rinses; mine are the dark blue. They’re super comfortable and keep their shape beautifully. Perfect for travel. I’m 5 ft 9 (175cm) tall and wearing size 12 long.
The Accessories
I picked the colour of the roses out of the jumper and emphasised it with *red kitten heel ankle boots. I love them. They’re comfortable. They make a statement. They’re bright red. I could ask nothing more of a pair of boots. And at £25, they’re an excellent price. Less than my fave red lipstick in fact!
I love the simplicity of this watch. It’s from Stefano Lungo and it comes with three straps in a choice of colours. I chose this dusty olive along with a light pink and a bright lapis blue. Such a great idea.

Embroidery: High Street Favourites
Of course everything on the high street is inspired by fashion designers and their catwalk shows; Louis Vuitton showed the most exquisitely embroidered coats on the SS18 runway. Most of us aren’t privvy to a designer budget so this selection is from the high street.

Don’t forget my new Get The Look page. I’ve put pictures with links of everything I have worn in my style posts, (clothes, accessories, jewellery, lipsticks), that are currently available to buy. This page saves you trawling through the archives if you’ve seen something you like in a previous post and want to know if it’s still available.
