“Let me take you by the hand and lead you through the streets of London…” Ralph McTell’s poignant lyrics really resonated as I was selecting the images for this blog post- in a different context I must add. As you get further on in the post, you’ll see me hand in hand with three friends, (you’ll recognise them), in a beautiful London street, in photographs taken the evening before we went to the Chelsea Flower Show, which you can read about in this blog post.
Behind the camera for these stunning shots was Catherine Summers, a photography graduate, author of the award winning blog Not Dressed as Lamb and my friend. I can’t tell you how wonderful it was to have a photoshoot with her. She chose the location, (South Kensington), and directed me to stand and sit where the light would be most flattering. The black, green and white backdrop couldn’t have been more perfect to showcase my draped floral dress.
The dress is from a newly-discovered, (to me), independent brand with the fabulously quirky name of “Alice’s Pig” A small, family business based in London, it has the most wonderful ethos and a charming back story. The clothes are deliciously divine and verging on the eccentric with a romantic, feminine twist. I’ll let the rest of the photographs speak for themselves.
Side by Side
You will of course recognise Michelle, Nikki and Annette, each of whom had a photoshoot with Catherine. I perhaps should say that it followed Tapas and copious Cava and in fact some might say we were holding each other up. I prefer to say we were simply supporting each other.
Behind The Scenes
Not only was it a privilege working with Catherine, it was wonderful to watch her photographing the others.
And here are Nikki, Catherine and Michelle, (before Annette had arrived), enjoying the aforementioned Tapas and Cava as well as each others’ company.

Thank you so much. We had such fun taking them xxxxx
WOW! These photos took my breath away, so utterly gorgeous! The lighting is just perfection (I wish the sunshine would cooperate every day for us bloggers), and Catherine is such a pro behind the camera isn't she? Talented lady. Credit also to you for such lovely posing, you're a perfect model. Alice's Pig has been on my radar for a year or two, I am obviously drawn to the vintage aesthetic that many of their garments have. This dress is a top choice on you. xx
Yes! The lighting was sublime and the street just amazing. Catherine is indeed a very talented lady and it's so lovely working with her in this way and such a privilege too. Alice's Pig is VERY you. I have another dress that I can't wait to share too. Same shape as this but a different print xxx
Oh really, I'm always so jealous when I see all of you together! My friends don't care much for fashion and don't care at all for blogging!
Oh Nancy, that's a shame. We have such fun and have so much mutual respect. The support we give each other is second to none so I do feel very lucky xxx
Hi Nancy, I just wanted to say to you that my other friends aren't into blogging either. Nor are many of them that bothered about fashion. That's probably why the O40Co hit it off so well! We could see instantly that we had an enormous amount in common where perhaps our other friends didn't. We never stop talking about blogging & fashion! What I'm trying to say is perhaps you should get some bloggers you know together for a meet up or attend a nearby blogger event to meet like minded women? Once you get a connection it's easy to keep it going through WhatsApp. Food for thought?
Hah! That's exactly what I was going to say to Nancy, MT!! Great minds 😉
Stunning! The dress is beautiful and you look really relaxed in the photos

Thank you so much. You're right- I was so relaxed. I think it's because I know Catherine so well and it was such an enjoyable shoot. The copious Cava before helped too, I'm sure!!! xxx
This really is such a pretty dress & quite an unusual cut which appeals to me. Liz I really love your hair that length, I don't think I've told you that yet. I realise it's only slightly shorter but the difference is quite noticeable. I think it's the sharpness at your jaw that makes it look so incredible. xxx
Yes, that was the unusual cut that I liked too. So pretty but not too safe. Thank you re my hair too. I'm so pleased I've been keeping it shorter. Easier and more stylish! Have a lovely weekend darling xxxxx
These photos are just touchingly beautiful! The light, the dress, the YOU!! 😀
I agree with what MT said, this length really suits you and your beautiful face . xx
Aw..thank you Lisa. It was fabulous working with Catherine and to benefit from her expert eye! Thank you re my hair. I'm so glad I decided to go shorter- it looks much healthier and a bit sharoervatyle wise xxxx
You all look like had a ball! Catherine did a beautiful job with the photography – she really is a wonderful photography, isn't she? I'd love to have her come over to Portugal and a do a shoot with me lol! LOVE the dress – it's so feminine (I know dresses wouldn't be masculine but I'm sure you know what I mean!). You look beautiful.

Oh Liz I think 80% of the beautiful pictures is beautiful you!!!!!!! You don't take a bad picture EVER, so photographing you was easy peasy (and so much fun). I can't get over how the dress suits the background so well, it was meant to be! Thank you for your kind words, they mean a lot my gorgeous friend. Everyone's been so kind with their comments, it's nice to know I haven't lost my touch!
We have such a fun day that Thursday, it was as much fun as the super hot special day at the CFS. Though it's funny to see the behind the scenes pics… I didn't realise I stood in such funny positions to take photos!! 😂😂
Catherine xoxo
Awww, thank you and OF COURSE you haven't lost your touch!!! Hee hee! It is always funny seeing behind the scenes pics when the person in the photo is unaware! We did have so much fun didn't we and I can't wait to see you again. Roll on November (or sooner if we can arrange it!) and thank you again xxxxx
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!!! Love the photos, the dress, the shoes, the bag, EVERYTHING!
