I mentioned in a previous blog post, (in which I was wearing the navy Hope Crepe Cocoon dress), that I was excited to tell you about these trousers, also by Hope. I think they make an excellent alternative to an LBD for the party season, but are also a brilliantly comfortable and versatile every day option, which can be styled in any number of ways. The side stripe is reminiscent of that on a Tuxedo trouser and I think they make a fabulous yet subtle statement.
For reference, I am just under 5 feet 9 inches tall. The trousers are in the long length and are a sample that I was loaned, so I folded them under on themselves to take them up about an inch, otherwise I would have taken advantage of the excellent free alteration service offered by Hope. They’re made from a thick, stretchy Ponte Roma fabric and are high-waisted. The Italian faux leather side stripe serves to visually elongate the leg and is a style detail which elevates these trousers from the ordinary into the super-stylish. They lend themselves to being teamed with a statement shoe and these metallic leather shoe boots have been in my armory, (footery? sorry…), for several years now and I can’t actually remember where they are from.
They are identical in shade to the my pewter metallic envelope clutch which is three years old but has been used over and over, proving just what a good investment metallic accessories are. My grey baguette diamante wrap bracelet has just this week sold out from my online boutique Lizzy O. It is however available in tan and I stock a very similar one in black.
It was a very blustery day again when we shot these photographs but it did make the tassels flutter which was rather nice. This is one of my favourite evening tops from last winter and this season it is also in berry and navy.
Love Liz x

I love a tuxedo stripe on pants, skirts, they just add such a dash of glam in my mind. Perhaps because I've come to associate them with glamorous black tie dinners, martinis and 007? Yours look GORGEOUS.
Thank you so much Sheela. Yes, any reminder of 007 is a good one!! xxx
