If you saw my post about my weekend in London with the Over40Collective, (my best blogging friends), you might have noticed that I wore a grey tulle skirt for our photoshoot. I’d wanted a tulle skirt for quite some time but I needed to think how to style it before I invested. I wanted it to look grown-up and elegant and not like I had raided a little girl’s dressing up box. It needed to be a true midi length and not a skirt that fell just below the knee, because I’m tall and I love wearing heels heels which means some skirts sometimes don’t reach quite as far as they should, which can make an outfit look disproportionate.
Grey is one of my favourite colours and one which is easy to team with a myriad of other colours so I’m looking forward to styling in differently over the coming weeks and actually, I might dress it down slightly too. On this occasion though, I opted for all of the sparkle with a gunmetal sequinned top and my champagne glitter shoes, (my beloved Jimmy Choo Tahitis), and a grey wrap bracelet from my online boutique, LizzyO. The grey has actually sold out, but it is available in a soft tan which is just as pretty.
I’d like to thank Catherine, Not Dressed as Lamb, who took these photographs for me. It was lovely to work with her in this way and because she has a degree in photography and of course has had thousands of pictures taken in her own outfits, she understands every aspect of getting an image to look right and it was brilliant benefitting from her professional direction.
Love Liz x

What a dreamy skirt and you've styled it in such an elegant way. I look forward to seeing the different ways you're going to wear it.

Thank you so much Gail. Yes, I've got a few ideas for dressing it down a little. I loved wearing it so much! xxxxxxx
You make this silver/grey loo work so well – I am sure it would look totally bland on other people (like me!), but on you, wow! Kx
Ah, thank you so much. I do love the soft grey shades xxx
Hello. I am so in love with your Jimmy Choos. I am stalking some on ebay but I'm hesitating! Are they comfy? (Well, comfy-ish). I'm worried about getting enough wear out of them… would you recommend? xx
Hello, thank you for getting in touch. These are the Tahiti in champagne glitter and I have had them for about 7 years now. They're the only pair of Jimmy Choos I own and I absolutely love them. I have worn them over and over and they probably could use a little TLC now! Because they're metallic, they work with every colour and I have worn mine with everything from cocktail dresses to distressed boyfriend jeans. I find them to be very comfy. They're leather and are very slightly padded inside, but that being said, I very rarely have a problem wearing any shoes from a comfort point of view. They still feel like an absolute treat when I wear them and I love them as much as the day I got them, so for me, they have been a very special and very good investment. Good luck! xxx
Lord, Liz. You look absolutely stunning in this outfit! It suits you from top to bottom. I know I say this all the time, but this is one of my favourites on you (:-)) Gorgeous, darling. xx
Aw, thank you so much sweetie. it as fab using your beautiful home as a studio! xxx
Yes you do look dreamy in this outfit Miss Liz! I can definitely voucher for that 😉
I also agree 100% about skirt length. I also prefer a midi length in a fuller skirt but yes that can be tricky to find. Lovely photo shoot xxx
Aw, thank you darling. Yes, it helps having a friend who is both blogger and photographer to shoot with! I still think that was one of the best weekends ever xxx
You look stunning and Catherine did a perfect job taking your photos!
