It’s the start of November and it’s beginning to look a little like Christmas. The decision as to where we will spend Christmas Day itself has yet to be made but lots of other exciting plans are in place. Already, in common with a lot of women, I’ve started to think about choosing gifts for my loved ones- something which brings me great pleasure and something that never seems like a chore. However, it is lovely to choose something for oneself and it felt like Christmas had come early when jewellery brand Eternal gave each member of The Over 40 Collective a budget of £150 and asked us choose something for ourselves.
The range of jewellery they sell is immense and it took quite a lot of (very pleasurable) time to look through and decide whether or not to choose several pieces, a pendant with matching bracelet and earrings perhaps, or whether to chose just one item of jewellery. After a lot of perusing, I opted for a statement bracelet because the colours caught my eye and because it is unlike anything I have already. It’s a real show-stopper.
Rose-gold plated, it is set with garnet and amethyst Swarovski crystals, purple jade gemstones, marquise cut abalone and deep purple Cat’s Eye cabachons.
In short, it is red and purple and rich and sparkly and perfect for party season, although this bracelet is definitely not just for Christmas…
My red high-neck ruffle swing dress is one which is perfect for the festive season too. I like the shape- it’s flattering- and the ruffles add a nice detail but stop short of making it look flouncy. At £39, it’s an excellent price point and is another great alternative to the LBD.
I knew as soon as I got these leopard print double strap court shoes that they’d become a favourite and they really have. I have worn them over and over and with several different outfits. The heel height belies their comfort and I can’t see me tiring of wearing them any time soon.
Eternal jewellery comes in a branded gift box and these photographs show the beauty of the individual gemstones.
As with all of our collaborations, each member of the Over 40 Collective chose something different to reflect our own individual style and personality, although Michelle, (RetroChicMama), chose the same bracelet as me but in a palette of blues and greens.
