Hello and happy Friday! It’s been rather a hectic of late and I feel like I’m chasing my tail somewhat. My 13 year-old cut his hand over two weeks ago, an injury which required stitches and which subsequently became infected, leading him to get cellulitis. It has required numerous trips to see both the doctor and the practice nurses and we’ve spent around 10 hours in waiting rooms. As a result, I’ve been playing catch-up with work, particularly because the November issue of Aspire has gone to press today so I’ve been chasing copy and tying up loose ends for much of the week.
There have been far happier distractions though, including a series of lunches out this week for my birthday which is tomorrow. A number of my friends have birthdays within two weeks of mine which gives us the wonderful excuse to celebrate and celebrate again.
I can’t tell you how glad I am to be self-employed to enable accommodate these somewhat contrasting events, and, as always, I feel incredibly privileged to have a career that is as fulfilling as it is flexible to enable me to fit around my children’s needs but also to have some very pleasurable time-out.
This dress is one you’ve seen on numerous occasions, but not with my high-heeled ankle boots. I wore it last night when my Aspire colleague and friend Danielle and I went to a Skipton Business Network event at a local hotel, a venue within tottering distance from my home, which meant I could go in heels. The fabulous tights are from my friends at the Yorkshire-based My Stockings who regularly send me some beautiful hosiery and the black and silver sparkly wrap bracelets with buckle are from my online accessories website, Lizzy O and can double as chokers.
Have a lovely weekend,
Love Liz x

It's such a shame to hide your wonderful figure under such a loose fitting dress.
Thank you for the compliment about my figure- you're very kind. Don't worry- I have some fitted dr sees and outfits on the horizon! X
Hi Lizzy, fun dress, it is exciting to try something new right? Loving those tattooed stockings, great print on those pretty gams! I loved my stockings, they are so silky!

Thank you Jess. Yes, the tights are gorgeous aren't they- very silky as you say and something a little different xxx
I love the look of this dress – the shape is unusual yet oh-so stylish. Your tights are amazing – but if you hadn't mentioned them in the title of your post the back view would have been a complete surprise because it looks like you are bare-legged from the front (three cheers for the return of tights weather!). An overall lovely, lovely look! Kx
Thank you so much for your lovely comments and compliments. I couldn't agree more- I love tights weather!
Wow! I love the outfit!!! You look amazing. I love those tights!!
