I don’t know what it is about this time of year that fills me with such excitement and such zest for life. I’ve always loved autumn and have written before about the sensuality of the season- the crunch of leaves, the tactile textures of knits and of faux fur, the twinkling of candles and fairy lights and the unmistakable smokey smell of an open fire. I love the nip in the air, the misty mornings and the hazy sunshine. The burnished leaves add a warmth and a richness to summer’s green palette and the light can look quite magical when shining through semi-naked trees.
I’m fortunate to live in a beautiful part of the world, just a hop and skip away from the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The outdoors plays an important part in my life and is something I enjoy enormously. I’m always on the look out for appropriate, stylish attire and Dash is increasingly becoming my go-to place for exactly that. It has undergone a revamp of late and the new collection is very nice indeed.
This whole outfit is from there and I absolutely love it. The jeans are described as slim leg, but in actual fact, they’re almost a skinny fit. Super-stretchy and very comfortable, I’ll wear these with a sparkly top and heels as soon as I get the opportunity.
The waxed jacket is in the most perfect shade of khaki green and has a zip fastening as well as buttons. It’s a very flattering shape and is the perfect weight for transitional dressing. This also comes in “wine,” a beautiful berry colour.
My birds of paradise scarf and the taupe hearts bracelet are both from Lizzy O, my own accessories website. The bracelet has a magnetic fastening and is a casual, every day style.
The pink jumper is 100% cotton and has a lovely herringbone texture. It could easily accommodate a lace-trimmed vest or cami underneath by means of an extra layer when the temperature dips a little further, or perhaps even a shirt.
And my olive leather brogue-style Chelsea boots from Lotus co-ordinate with the jacket beautifully.
Love Lizzy x

Thank you Suzy. Dash was a preferred brand of my mum's when I was a teenager and it was rather frumpy at that time (though it was the late '80s.!) It's undergone a rebrand I think and tyere are some very nice separates. I can't tell you how pleased I am with the waxed jacket xxx
Oooh Liz you look like a vision of autumnal country loveliness!! The scarf looks perfect with the jacket and jeans, I love how the colours pick out the pink in the sweater. Though if those jeans are slim fit on your legs, they'd be spray-on on mine…!!!!

Thank you. I do always try and pull things together with some kind of accessory- so thank you. Yes, the jeans are described as slim but I like them being so fitted. Luckily they're super stretchy!! xxx

Thanks for such an inspirational post Lizzy. I'm a summer type so autumn is always a challenge for me, but you write so credibly about your passion for this time of year, it's quite infectious! You truly look the part for your walk in the park. I love the jacket and boots together – fab colours for me too. Have a lovely week x
