At the end of July, I wrote a post about working from home during the summer holidays, (with teenagers), and one of the suggestions I made was to plan days out or trips away. We did just that and booked a mini-break to London, (on a budget), and had a brilliant few days. I will at some point put a blog post together about what we did there because I’m sure I’m not alone in having a teenage girl and boy and finding it increasingly difficult to please both. This is, I think, even harder when one is a lone parent as I am.
We went by train and traveled lightly, a task made easier because of the warm weather forecast. I took three easy to wear dresses, a pair of sandals, a pair of pull-on pumps (skater shoes? I’m never sure what they’re called) and a fabulous new silver leather tote bag, handcrafted by Manchester-based Edward de Lacy.
The tote is made from a beautiful metallic silver Italian leather and has a blue external zip on one side and a red one on the other plus a detachable red leather tassel. The tote can also be worn as a cross body bag or on the shoulder courtesy of the adjustable long strap. It is capacious enough to accommodate a purse, camera, iPad mini, phone, make-up bag and more but is itself not heavy and is very comfortable to wear.
My bag is a one-off in the silver colour but the same style can be made to order in most colours, so do take a look at Edward de Lacy’s website and his Etsy store. The quality is outstanding and because they’re handcrafted, every item is unique.
Love Liz x

Love this look ! And silver is truly a summer color … (Less flashy than gold isn't it !).
But the true question is : what have you done with your children ? I have two boys aged 11 and 14 and it's becoming complicated to raise their interest lately (except if it includes Pokemon).
Yes, I completely agree about silver being a summer colour. I have just published a new post about what I did with my children! It gets harder and harder to find something that both will enjoy! xxx
So glad you had a chance for a getaway – it's so helpful for our mental health! Love this look and your fabulous tote. xo
