Coral Asymmetric Dress With Gold Star Jewellery and Raffia Clutch Bag

As you probably know, I have just come back from an amazing holiday in Nerja in Southern Spain. I went with my parents and my two teenage children and it was one of the best weeks away I have ever had. The weather was hot, the beach and sea were beautiful and I have completely lost my heart to this quaint, picturesque and relatively unspoiled Spanish town. I have quite a few outfits to share over the next few weeks so I shall include a few photographs of the resort in each of these blog posts.

We stayed half-board in a hotel in the heart of Nerja on El Balcon de Europa so it was a lovely opportunity to dress for dinner after spending the day in beach attire.

I first spotted this asymmetric dress at the Kaleidoscope AW press day back in May and I knew it would be perfect for my holiday, the vibrant coral lending itself to the blue sky and bright sunshine. The unusual shape appealed, with the dipped hemline and the asymmetric waist detail. It’s a crepe jersey so is lightweight and there was only minimal creasing when I unpacked it, which soon disappeared after a day or two on a hanger. (I’d like to point out that this is a true representation of the colour. On the Kaleidoscope website it looks lighter).

I bought this blue and beige raffia clutch at one of the numerous little shops in Nerja- it’s quite nice when a souvenir has a practical as well as an aesthetic purpose. To finish, I added my gold stars ring and earrings (both by Danon and available at my online boutique, Lizzy O), and a pair of tan strappy high-heeled sandals.

The church of El Salvador is, I think, the most beautiful church I have ever seen and was only a matter of metres away from where we stayed and I could see the belfry from my bedroom window.  Its chiming clock and pealing bells were an auditory delight and it was equally pleasing on the inside with a chequer board marble floor and large ornate lanterns. Heavenly.
